My Grandfather Sold His Dental Clinic.
Not Because He Wanted To.

In 1993, my grandfather opened Makkah Dental Clinic in Lahore, Pakistan.
He built it from nothing. He wanted my father to become a dentist and carry it forward.
My father went into the judiciary instead, and became an Additional District and Sessions Judge.
For 25 years, my grandfather ran the practice himself. He saw patients. He paid his team. He kept the lights on. He did the work most practice principals don’t talk about: the work that happens after the patients go home, when someone has to answer the front desk, balance the books, hire the team, and figure out how to keep margins from shrinking.
In 2018, he sold the clinic.
Not because he wanted to retire. Because he couldn’t scale the operations anymore. Associate salaries climbed, running costs climbed, and margins tightened until paying his team properly meant losing money himself.
So he sold to someone else who could.
I’m not building SelenicAI to become a dentist. I’m building it so that every practice principal like my grandfather can scale without having to sell.
A 24/7 AI voice receptionist isn’t just software. It’s the answer to a problem my family lived through.
